有朋友说想看看若珈参加学生会竞选的演说，我知道她竞选前写过一个长长的竞选演说，打印出来A4纸两页，她还关在卧室里反复朗读背诵，我便向她问起。若珈说，这是我中学生活的一个重要片段，也许，以后我要把它写进我的下一本书里。我说，那好吧，我就预先披露一点点。以下，是若珈竞选演说的开头两段：

      Hey, guys! I’m Ruojia, and I’m running for treasurer. So we’re in our senior year, and I know you all want to have as much fun as possible—and trust me, so do I—but the school can use a lot of help financially. For the possibility of having more dances, better trips and senior activities, and more fun afterschool activities and sports teams, we need to raise a lot of money—and quick. I know, I know, earning money seems like a big drag, but if I become your next treasurer, I will do everything I can to organize fundraisers where you can have a blast helping our school earn money.

I used to love going to school carnivals or fairs in elementary school. Yeah, remember those? Even if you’ve never been to a school fair, it’s not too late to go to one. For me, having a wild time with my friends and walking home with cheesy prizes was always something I looked forward to every year. If you vote me as treasurer, I will try my best to make those carnivals happen at JHS 194. We’ll set up game booths with prizes, have a raffle or two for big wins, and there’ll be amazing food. I think a school fair will be a huge hit and we’ll make major money off of them!
