    英国影艺学院与金球奖得主休葛兰，《霹雳娇娃》女主角茱儿芭莉摩领衔主演，《贴身情人》导演马克劳伦斯执导的电影《K歌情人》是一部以流行音乐创作过程为题材的浪漫爱情喜剧片，故事叙述过气的80年代歌手艾力克斯佛莱契落得只能在乡村市集与游乐园的怀旧演唱会中跑跑场子的下场，有一天，当红的乐坛小天后-卡罗柯曼力邀艾力克斯写歌，并一起合唱的刹那，艾克利斯终于找到了重返乐坛的契机，不过，这位曾经独领风骚的才子已经很多年没动笔写歌了，他该如何为乐坛小天后谱写畅销曲呢？此时，艾力克斯与在他家担任园艺工作，对文字很有天份的创作才女苏菲费雪偶然邂逅，艾力克斯力邀苏菲一起写歌，两人之间的情感在创作的过程中逐渐加温，但是，害怕做任何承诺的艾力克斯，和刚经历过一场失败感情关系的苏菲，必须各自克服心中的恐惧，才能携手在爱情与创作的世界里开花结果。

    导演希望这部描写流行音乐创作家的电影里头，所出现的歌曲在音乐上必须非常具有旋律性，且要能让朗朗上口，而歌词则必须切合主角人物的性格，同时还要具有推动故事情节的戏剧性，导演认为具有浅显易懂特质的80年代流行音乐，绝对适合影片中的男主角艾力克斯，在确定脚色的性格与背景后，导演找了自己最喜欢的乐团Fountains Of Wayne的创作灵魂Adam Schlesinger（曾经以电影《挡不住的奇迹》主题曲《That Thing You Do》获得奥斯卡最佳电影主题曲提名的创作者），为本片创作了《Don't Write Me Off》、《Meaningless Kiss》、《Way Back Into Love》等3首歌曲，其中后两首歌曲是当作艾力克斯与苏菲两人所共谱的创作曲，而《Way Back Into Love》更是两位主角的浪漫主题曲。影片中也特地为艾力克斯在80年代所属的流行乐团PoP量身订作了几首歌曲，包括影片开场曲《PoP！Goes My Heart》，还有导演的12岁儿子Clyde主动向老爸推荐自己所写的抒情曲《Dance With Me Tonight》。

    影片中的歌曲洋溢着80年代英式新浪漫摇滚乐派的流行电子乐、美式电子摇滚乐、电子舞曲，影片中所有演员亦都使出浑身解数，亲自灌唱出现在电影中的歌曲，休葛兰以纯情歌声所演唱的《Meaningless Kiss》在歌曲情调上媲美了George Michael在Wham！时期的独唱情歌《Careless Whisper》，休葛兰以动感风情歌声所唱的《PoP！ Goes My Heart》完全具备了80年代英式电子流行乐的注册印记，休葛兰同时与茱儿芭莉摩以及在片中饰演小天后卡罗柯曼，来自佛罗里达的新世代酷妹Haley Bennett分别灌唱了影片中的情歌《Way Back Into Love》，Haley同时还独唱了制作过Britney Spears专辑的组合Bloodshy所打造的青春劲作《Buddha's Delight》。
