Beethoven was going
through one of these sorrowful, sombre and gloomy
periods. He was very sad and
depressed by the death of a German prince,who
was his benefactor and as a second father to
him.

The young
composer suffered from a great lack of affection.His father was a
drunkard who used to assault him physically. He died on the
streets, due to
alcoholism.

His mother died
very young. His biological brother never helped him and, on top
ofit all, he felt his illness was getting worse. Symptoms of
deafness started to disturb him, leaving him nervous and
irritable.
他的母亲去世时还非常的年轻。他的兄弟从来都不帮助他。他感到头部上的疾病正在继续的恶化，症状性耳聋开始打扰他，使得他非常地紧张和急躁。

Beethoven could
only hear using a kind of horn-shaped trumpet in his ear. He always
carried with him a notebook, where people could write and so
communicate with him. But they did not have patience for this, nor
him to read their lips.
贝多芬耳里只能听到喇叭状的小号声。所以他总是随身携带笔记本以此与他人沟通。但那些人们没有足够的耐心，也读不懂他的唇语。

people.

even prepared his will, saying that maybe it was better for him to
commit suicide.
得不到人们的理解，得不到人们的帮助，贝多芬开始躲避人们，走进自己的个人世界，他开始厌恶人类，面对这一切，作曲家感到自己跌落到了深谷。他甚至觉得寻求死亡或许会更好些。
