    一、任务说明

主办本届世界杯足球赛的南非决定从没有参加世界杯国家的学生中要求3000人去南非观看世界杯，以进一步提高这些国家的足球运动水平。中国将选拔100名学生参加这一活动，其中河南省5名。你校准备推荐一人参加河南省选拔活动。今天全班讨论，推选一人参加学校选拔。选拔标准为：

1. 10-18 years old;

2. Good at playing football, or love football game; or athletic.

3. Active, or cooperative, or outgoing.

四、南非世界杯相关信息

The 2010 FIFA World Cup will be the 19th FIFA World Cup, the top international football tournament. It is planned to take place between 11 June and 11 July 2010 in South Africa. 204 of the 208 FIFA national teams attended the qualification matches.

This will be the first time that the tournament has been hosted by an African nation. Italy was the champion team in the last tournament. The new champion team will be born on 11 July 2010 at the Football City Stadium of Johannesburg, the largest city of South Africa.

Training hard

It’s Saturday morning and I’m on my way to school, but I’m not going to study. I’m going to play football. I’m in the school team and we’re playing in the junior league. The practice starts at 10.00, but we all arrive early and get changed quickly and we have time to warm up. We’re training harder than usual because the other schools beat us last year. We played badly and we want to do better.
