忧愁河上的金桥（Bridge Over Troubled Water）

1970年西蒙和加芬柯尔推出以“忧愁河上的金桥”为主打歌的同名专辑，获当年葛莱美多项大奖，其中“忧愁河上的金桥”获最佳歌曲和最佳当代歌曲两项大奖。

西蒙的嗓音松弛自然，加芬柯尔的歌喉柔美纯净，具有一种脆弱的美感。歌曲开始由钢琴前奏渲染出严峻深沉的气氛，然后圣洁的歌声飘然而至，如同天际的霞光穿破乌云。在第三段中，钢琴与弦乐交织的背景上又加入沉重的鼓点，似雷声隆隆又似浊浪拍岸，衬得西蒙和加芬柯尔的和声如同圣歌一般高亢优美，表现出庄严博大的境界。
