Today is Good Friday, which means no school
for us. That's such a relief for me after having been studying and
drowning in school work for God knows how long. Speaking of God,
Jesus was getting burnt on Good Friday. So he suffered, then we
have no school, I'll take that. Luckily, there's a Rockets game
tonight, against the Warriors.
I was hoping to see Yao dominating the young
Warriors before starting to watch the game. But it's said that
there's something wrong with his right foot, ergo, he's out
tonight. However, Houston's got Dikembe Mutombo, one of the
greatest defensive centers in the history of basketball regardless
of how old he actually is (honestly, I think he's at least 50).
Thus, the finger-waving legend starts to surprise
the Golden State newbies.
1st qtr, 7 rebounds for Dike, I think, plus 2
block shots, wow! The Rockets outrebounded those jumpy youngsters
16-4, if I remember correctly. The oldest player in the league
tought the youngest player, Anthony Randolph, a lesson that he'll
never forget. The 1st qtr set the
foundation for Houston's win tonight. It wasn't a
great victory, but certainly a big one, with Dike's 10-point
14-rebound double-double performance along with 4 block shots in 34
mins.
It's just precious to see this 50-year-old
man running on the floor. Every minute of Dike's playing time is
just an unforgettable continuation of his legendary career.
Therefore, let's applaud for this great basketball player, great
mental and vocal leader, and most importantly a great man who has
influenced two generations and the sport of basketball.
When he leaves, no one will forget his
superlong name (Dikembe Mutombo Mpolondo Mukamba Jean-Jacques
Wamutombo, haha), his waving finger, his warm heart for charity,
his belief in never committing a single foul, and his deep deep
voice. You might not know who Michael Jordan is, but you have gotta
hear this name, Dikembe Mutombo. So come on Houston, come on Yao,
come on Artest, win the champion, win it for
Dike, don't make him enter the
Hall of Fame without a ring on his hand with which he has made so
many superstars run back to their own sides of the court without
scoring.
No need for further saying, let's
hear it for Dikembe Mutombo!!!
