When I was a child, my relatives asked me, “what will do you do when you grow up into a man?” “I want to become a People’s Liberation Army (PLA) .” I answerd without any hesitation. At that time, PLA is a wonderful occupation in my mind.

When I became a middle school student, my mother often stimulated me like this “would you want to wear leather shoes or cloth shoes on earth”.For only poor peasants wears cloth shoes, but wealthy workers wears leather shoes. Of course, I wanted to wear leather shoes, so I studied hard.At that time, worker is a good occupation in my mind.

When I would select a college before the college enterance exam, my parents and relatives agreed with consensus  that it is best to become a doctor. They said: “ you will get money with pulling patients’ hand ( it describles the procedure that a traditional chinese medical physicist is working) ”. And they agued that a doctor was not disemployed forever whichsoever dynasty. I also thought it was right. So I becacome a medical student, from undergraduate course to graduate course for 8 years, then I worked in an advanced public hospital.

However, when my classmates in middle school and in college made big money by changing industry and job, but I could only make a slice salary. I began to hesitate and think if my selection was right. Finally, I thrown my iron bowl and became a doctor of private hospital. Now I can make far more money than before, but am I satisified with it? The answer is “ no ”, because my friends along with me make far more money than I.

Could it be that the purpose of our work is only for money and for more money?

Gradually, I understood a principle that I couldn’t obtain more happiness with making more money, because I couldn’t make as much money as Bill Gates for ever. It truly makes me happy that my job makes  other people happy and relieves other people agony. As so, I get achievability and feel my value as a social person.

I often heard some complaint from some patients that the work pressure was great and he/she felt tired and anguished. So I want to say to him/her: “don’t work only for money, you should enjoy the work process and enjoy the achievability after working hard. I think you will make more money with the happiness index rising from work.”

As above mentioned, work is an important part of a life, so everyone should treat work seriously. Resently, one of my classmates is hesitating if she should change job. So I will also say to her: “ if your job can’t bring happiness for you, why not to change it ? ”
