The first time I saw Pi cry, it was twilight, the saddest time of day. Pi's tears made my heart brake.

Pi is an adorable, obedient cat from England. She is 14 this year, very old. So old that she doesn't have any teeth left. But her owner, a well respected old scientist, still loves her a lot.

The scientist recently went over seas and left Pi at home. I’ve been looking after her this time. Looking after pi is easy. Change her water and food every second day.

At the start it was ok. When I went over, sometimes she was home, sometimes she wasn’t. After I did my duty I would leave.

Then one day, I opened the door and then Pi started meowing and nuzzling my leg. I didn’t plat much attention to her. I refilled her water and food then sat down on the coach. Suddenly she jumped on me. I hugged her and then I realized that there were tears in her eyes. I got a tissue and wiped them away but they just kept flowing. The fur under her eyes was all wet from the tears. Then I felt that Pi must be very lonely. Everyday she was all by herself, no company. Her owner hasn’t been home for day. She must be heart-broken.

It was raining that day as I pat her gently. I talked to her for a long time. But when I had to leave, Pi was following me and her eyes looked so sad that I really didn’t want to leave.

Today, I went to visit her. As I walked in through the gate, I heard a very happy meow. Pi was sitting on roof. I got the keys and opened the door. Pi had somehow climbed down and was at the door. I went and sat on the couch with Pi on my lap and started talking to her. She would turn around and look at me again and again. It was like her eyes could talk.

Just like that I sat and talked to her for a really long time. I tried to make her jump off me so I could refill her food but she just wouldn’t move. It was like she thought that if she moved that I would take that chance and run away.

Pi is a very special cat. During these days, my feelings toward her are getting deeper.  If there’s time I would go and see her. I just wish that she’s safe, sound and happy.

I hope that Pi’s owner comes back quickly so that Pi isn’t so lonely.
