Reading. Read “Jim’s plan for vacation” and finish the exercises.
Jim is going to Hong Kong for vacation. He’s visiting his uncle there because he misses his uncle very much. His parents are going with him and they are going there by plane. They are leaving for Hong Kong on September 30th and staying there for about six days. During the six days Jim is going sightseeing with his uncle in the beautiful city and playing a lot of games.

3. Pair-work. Talk about your National Day vacation plan with your partner.

Divide 6 groups×5 sets of paper (what, when, where, who, how, how long)
Task 2: Detective Conan
1. The famous detective Conan is searching an international criminal. A person gives Conan his recent plans (who, when, where, what, why, how, how long…) to help Conan find out the criminal.
Ask several groups of students to act the dialogue out.
Task 3: A make-up story / A cut-up story.
Group work. Groups of 3. Take out all the paper, and choose the paper one by one. Make up a reasonable dialogue.
Ask several groups of Ss to act out the make-up story.
A cut-up story: give students a cut-up story. Ask them to make them as a passage.
Tony: Say, Anna, what are you doing tonight? Would you like to go out?
Anna: Oh, sorry, I can’t. I’m going to work late tonight. I have to finish this report.
Tony: Well, how about tomorrow night? Are you doing anything then?
Anna: No, I’m not. What are you planning to do?
Tony: I’m going to see a musical. Would you like to come?
Anna: Sure. I’d love to! But let me pay for the tickets this time. It’s my turn.
Tony: All right! Thanks!
Anna: So, what musical are we going to see?
Tony: It’s called cats.
Anna: Oh, sure. Cats. I’ve heard a lot about it. When does it start?
Tony: It starts at eight. Maybe we can have a pizza before the show.
Anna: OK. Great!
Tony: Should I pick you up at your house?
Anna: Well, I’ll be in the city tomorrow afternoon, so let’s meet near the theater.
Tony: OK. Do you want to meet in front of the Pizza Palace on State Street? At a quarter to seven?
Anna: A quarter to seven at the Pizza Palace? Great!
