(一)创设情境,导入新课[Create plots and scenes to guide the new
lesson]
Review
and consolidate the target language learnt in section A by talking
about one’s recent things. The following questions can be used:
What have you done? What haven’t you done yet? Have you done sth
yet? Etc. Three or five minutes is limited for this activity. Then
the teacher communicates with the students about music. Do you like
music? Do you have a favorite singer? How long have he/she been
popular? Have you seen him/her in concert yet? Etc. Then get the
students to talk about this topic with these questions in groups
and encourage them to talk about much more details about their
favorite singers. At last, get the students to finish part 1. Give
them some help if necessary.
(二)自读感知,整体把握[Pre-read to apperceive and grasp the whole]
Continue
to practice the target language structures “have done sth already”
and “haven’t done sth yet” by doing some listening, reading,
writing and discussing. The main topic in section B is one’s
favorite band. It is designed by four steps. In part 1, make a
survey about one’s favorite band using the given questions. In 2a -
2c, students do some listening practice about a popular band then
talk about the band with the information they get from listening.
In 3a-3c, reading and writing practice is designed according to the
target language to consolidate the usage of the Present Perfect
Tense. In part 4, make a survey about the given information to
practice the target language.
(三)合作交流,解读探究[Cooperate and intercourse to unscramble and
research]
The main
content in section B is to talk about one’s favorite band and
singers and ask some information about what students have already
done.

the tape of part 2a, the students listen and fill in the
information about the band, finish the teaching task of 2a.
2.Play
the tape of part 2a again and ask the students to check the things
the band has already done. Finish the teaching task of part 2b.

students to read the passage in part 3a and circle the things the
band have already done and underline the things they haven’t done
yet. Finish the teaching task of 3a.

②miss用作动词,意为“错失、逃过、避开”之意。后接名词或动词ing的形式作宾语。此外,miss还有“怀念、思念”之意。

【注意】appear on
CCTV在中央电视台公开演出。appear用作不及物动词,意为“出现、公开演出、正式出面”。此外,appear还可用作连系动词,意为“似乎、看起来”,后可接不定式、形容词或that从句作表语。
appearance名词,“出现、露面、外表”。disappear动词,“消失”,disappearance名词,“消失”。

【注意】①be sure“确信、肯定、一定”,其后可接动词不定式、从句或of短语。
②if they
come to a city near you是条件状语从句。注意if引导的条件状语从句中需用一般现在时表示一般将来时。

③Be sure

④If you

【注意】most, mostly和almost的区别
①most用作形容词,意为“最多的、最大的”,是many或much的最高级。还可作“几乎全部的,大多数的”解。用作名词,意为“最多,最大,几乎全部,大部分”。此外,还可用作副词,意为“最”或构成形容词、副词最高级。
②mostly副词,意为“大部分、主要地、通常地”。
③almost副词,意为“几乎、差不多、将近”,与nearly意思接近。

(四)应用迁移,巩固提高[Application and transfer; consolidations and
improvement]
Modern
students have lots of interests. Almost all are interested in
sports or music. So it is quite possible for the teacher to
organize an activity to talk about one’s favorite players or
singers, sports teams or bands. Make sure the students use the
target language structures in the discussion. The activity can not
only help students to practice the content in this unit, but also
bring them much fun in learning English. Students must be glad to
take part in it.
(五)总结反思,拓展延伸[Summarize and ponder, develop and stretch]
小结[Summary]
The
content of this unit is to learn the usage of the Present Perfect
Tense to talk about recent events. There are two main topics. In
section A it is mainly talking about preparing for a vacation and
in section B, it is mainly about bands.
讨论交流[Discussion and intercourse]
Make an
activity of discussion and intercourse about students’ English
learning. What do you think of English? How long have you learnt
it? How many words have you remembered? What have you done to learn
English well? Have you ever spoken to foreigners? Etc This activity
may help students find many good ways to learn English and is a
good chance to practice the target language in this unit.
反思[Pondering]
1.The
Present Perfect Tense is the grammar focus of this unit. It is both
the difficulty and the emphasis of this unit. And it is much more
difficult for students to understand and grasp than any other
tense. The students once learnt this tense in Grade Eight. So the
teacher should consult “Unit 6‘How long have you been collecting
shells?’” and “Unit 9‘Have you ever been to an amusement park?’”
When he makes the teaching design for this unit. The teacher should
help the students to induce and sum up the usage of the Present
Perfect Tense. The teacher should also create many scenes for
students to use the tense.
2.There
are two main topics in this unit. One is to talk about preparing
for a vacation, and the other is to talk about one’s favorite band.
Both of them interest students a lot. The teacher should know this
point well. He may take lots of ways to encourage the students to
take an active part in class activities.

Popular
music in America is what every student likes. Students carry small
radios with earphones and listen to music before class, after
