教学目标

    1. 谈论日常活动

课前准备

1.   学生课前准备:一张或几张自己和家人或和同学、朋友的照片;或任何可以展开谈论日常活动或谈论正在进行的活动/动作这一话题的图片或动画。

    2. 教学器材:Recorder; computer, hand-out, etc.

    3. 教学课件:Cartoon pictures; Flash on PC

1.表示日常活动的动词及短语:

 clean; read; swim;      shop; do homework;     watch TV; eat dinner;      write a letter; play soccer/     basketball, etc.

根据图片谈论正在进行的动作。

1.引导、启发、教授需学内

   容。

2.What, When, Who疑问    句。

2. 听录音,回答问题。

2.放录音;启发、提示问题及答语。

3. 阅读→迁移。

3.       阅读短文→找出其中行为动作及地点→根据图片信息,迁移刚刚所画动作及地点→形成新一篇完整文段。

4.       正在进行的动作及其发生所在地:at school; at home; at the library; in the pool; at the mall

4. 利用本单元所学日常活动    的动词及短语,就图片所提供的信息进行讨论。可发散思维,或用学过的知识,或用课外知识,扩展   话题。之后,整理词语,写成文段。

教学过程设计

Task One:

Talk about the pictures to feel the present progressive

Goal: Draw out the present actions.

Step 1.

Talk about the pictures in 1a on page 83 (T→Ss.)

Try to match the words and phrases in the box with the activities in the picture (Ss.→Ss.)

Teach & learn the words and phrases: doing homework, watching TV, cleaning, eating dinner, reading (T→Ss.)

Introduce the structures: --- What is he doing?

                       --- He is reading.

                        --- What are you doing?

                        --- I am watching TV. (T→Ss.)

Step 2.

Questions & answers on cartoon pictures: --- What are Mary and Fred doing?

                                      --- They’re studying English.

                                      --- What’s Tom doing?

                                      --- He’s eating. (T→Ss.) →See Handout 1

Step 3.

More questions & answers on cartoon picture (Ss.→Ss.) →See Handout 2

Recycling: --- Where’s Walter?

                          --- He’s in the kitchen.

                          --- What’s he doing?

                          --- He’s eating breakfast.

Extended words and phrases: kitchen, park, yard, hospital

    listening to the radio, drinking coffee

Task Two:

Listen to the conversations to know more about the present progressive

Goal: Make sense of the structures Ss. are learning.

Step 1.

 Listen and comprehend the story, telling True or False. →From SBS 1, page 28

1. Mr. Anderson is in his kitchen.

2. Tommy is eating.

3. Mr. and Mrs. Lane are in their apartment.

4. Mrs. Thomas is painting.

5. Their address is 147 River Street. (Handout 3)

Listen for the second time and fill in the blanks, paying attention to the places and the activities.

        Everybody at 149 River Street is very busy today. Mr. Anderson ____ ________________ his kitchen. Mrs. Wilson is fixing her kitchen sink. Mr. and Mrs. Thomas ______ ________________ their living room. Mrs. Black ____ __________ her exercises. Tommy Lee is feeding his dog. And Mr. and Mrs. Lane are washing their car.

        I’m busy, too. I’m washing my windows…and of course, I ____ ________________ all my neighbors. It’s a very busy day at 149 River Street. (Handout 4)

Listen to another passage to decide the followings true or not. →From SBS 1, page 20

1. The Jones family is at home in the yard today.

2. Mr. Smith is planting flowers.

3. Sally Jones is studying.

4.Billy Smith is reading a book.

5.The Smith family is singing.

6.The Jones family and the Smith family are very happy today. (Handout 5)

Step 2.

Listen or read the passage. Fill in the blanks, using the structures to express the present progressive. →From SBS 1, page 20

        The Jones family is in the park today. The sun is shining and the birds ______ ________. It’s a beautiful day. Mr. Jones ____ ______________ the newspaper. Mrs. Jones ____ __________________ to the radio. Sally and Patty Jones are studying. And Tommy Jones ____ ______________ the guitar. The Jones family is very happy today. It’s a beautiful day and they’re in the park.

        The Smith family is at home in the yard today. Mr. Smith is planting flowers. Mrs. Smith ____ drinking lemonade and ______________ a book. Task Three:

Exchange information on everyday activities

Goal: Learn to express everyday activities 

Step 1.

Ss. bring some of their own photos to class

Talk about their photos (Ss.→ Ss.)

Step 2.

Introduce others’ photos and their activities, using the structures to express everyday activities (Ss.→ Ss.)

Ask and answer questions on everyday activities, with the information in the photos (Ss.→ Ss.)

Task Four:

Express activities in short passages

Goals: Learn to write

Step 1.

Discuss a picture and express the activities, using the structures learned in this unit (Ss. →Ss.)→SBS 1, page 29

Step 2.

Using the picture, write a story entitled “A busy day”, beginning with “Everybody at 210 Main Street is very busy today”. →See Handout 7

教学点评:

先以学生感兴趣的卡通图片引入,使他们初步感受正在进行的动作,以及如何表达日常活动。为任务的完成做铺垫。接着,通过就自己和家人或和同学、朋友的照片的互相提问,学会用句型 "What are you/they doing? What is he/she doing? Are you/they...? Is he/ she...?"等学生熟悉的生活话题交换信息,并初步掌握如何表达正在进行的动作。最后,学生就老师提供的图片上的信息,用本单元所学的句型,以先口头后书面的形式编一个小故事。这样,既学会了如何描述日常活动,又可以学会发散思维,以扩展知识。同时,学生的口头及书面表达能力也可随之提高。
