You are probably already
successful in your career or personal life but are you a success in
the gym? Do you feel comfortable
with your body and satisfied with your weight, appearance and your
physical abilities? If you can answer “yes,”
then congratulations-you have the complete package. More power to you, and
pass this valuable habit and lifestyle to those you are close
too.
Now more than ever before, the
value of health, well-being and physical potential has reached new
heights of awareness and is a popular topic. And rightfully
so--being in top physical condition will improve your productivity
and enjoyment of the all activities and of course, your chosen
profession.
“Survival Of The Fittest” is
an appropriate way to describe today’s modern lifestyle where
everyday we tackle the trials and tribulations of daily living in
addition to being bombarded with information, news and other
distractions which compete for our time. Suddenly, days
turn into weeks then years. This is the vicious
cycle of life which can sweep you off your feet, leave you worn out
and feeling abused. Sorry to be so
blunt--most discussions about health and fitness tell you what you
should do and in some cases how to do it. --But
what you really need to hear first is that making a lifelong
commitment to your health is the first step. And the these two
words are scary to many.
So decide you want to do it-to
be as successful in obtaining and retaining glowing health and
reaching your physical potential. Find
what motivates you and get moving. I have seen many people
start exercise programs but give up within 2-6 weeks. The
best fitness plan in the world is useless if you don’t follow it.
The same is true with
diets.
As mentioned in the opening
paragraph, most of us have experienced success in various aspects
of our lives. Therefore, it is
plausible that given the right motivation, success in the gym will
be forthcoming as long as you make it a priority.
Yes, that’s the key, make it a
priority-so health, fitness and your exercise program just got
moved up a notch in your daily to-do list.
Now we can do some
exercise!
Just Decide. You decide you
need to find what motivates
you.- For your family, to be more
productive at work, to lose 5k, or to simply feel good. Remember, also that
exercise and sensible eating will add quality and years to your
life. Choose something you
enjoy doing or if time is an issue find ways to exercise and engage
your mind with something else. For example, watch the
news on TV as you do your cardio. Simple but effective and
explains why the entertainment industry has made it’s way into the
health club environment.
Just Do It! Do it!Do whatever
it takes to engage in your desired activity whether it means
regular visits to a health club or a daily stroll in the
neighborhood. --Convenience and accessibility are the keys to
ensuring your desired physical activities are within easy reach,
therefore, plan ahead to make the transition from your daily life
into your exercise zone a seamless one.
