秘鲁定“全国哀悼日”为中国地震遇难者志哀

　　新华报业网利马5月16日电　秘鲁政府16日颁布最高政令，宣布5月19日为“全国哀悼日”，以悼念中国在汶川地震中的遇难者。这是秘鲁第一次为外国遇难者宣布“全国哀悼日”。

　　由秘鲁总统加西亚、政府总理德尔卡斯蒂略以及外交部长、司法部长和劳工部长共同签署的最高政令说：“2008年5月12日发生在中国的强烈地震，不仅是这个亚洲国家的灾难，也是全人类的不幸。秘鲁政府对如此惨重的人员伤亡表示哀悼，将宣布5月19日为全国哀悼日。”

　　根据这项政令，在哀悼日，秘鲁高级官员将通过中国驻秘鲁大使馆向中国地震中的死难者志哀，全国所有政府机构、军事设施、警察机关，以及所有秘鲁在国外的外交机构都将降半旗。

　　5月12日在中国四川省发生里氏7.8级强烈地震，至今已造成2万多人死亡。(记者刘国强赵焱)

Special report: Strong Earthquake Jolts SW China 　

LIMA, May 16 (Xinhua) -- The Peruvian government passed on Friday a supreme ordinance, setting May 19th as a national mourning day for Chinese earthquake victims.

According to the ordinance, signed by President Alan Garcia and his cabinet members, the Peruvian national flag will be raised half mast on May 19th in governmental, military and public buildings all over the country and its overseas missions.

The death toll from the 7.8-magnitude earthquake in China's Sichuan province rose to 22,069 nationwide as of 2 p.m. (0600 GMT) Friday, while the rescue headquarters feared the ultimate figure might top 50,000.
