从国际图联来的消息，拿破仑建立的埃及科学研究所被烧毁，其中不少珍贵文献同时被毁。该事件震惊国际图书馆界。
A black day for heritage: burning the Egyptian Scientific Institute
This day will be marked as "the Black day for Egyptian Heritage". Morning during conflicts between some Egyptian protests, the Egyptian Scientific Institute which established in 1798 by Napolean Bonaparte has been burned. The Egyptian Scientific Institute is the oldest scientific institute in Egypt and Middle East at all. It has the most rich and rare library in Egypt.
