1933老场坊位于上海市虹口区沙泾路29号。这里原是老上海工部局宰牲场，而且是当时远东最大，且最现代化的宰 ，因该建筑于1933年竣工，故被称为1933老场坊。

       尽管它是当今世界上三座同类型宰牲场中硕果仅存的一个，但相较于上海的众多百年老建筑而言，老场坊并不显得特别出众。在相当长的时间里也只能默默无闻地湮没在老旧街区内。随着北京798模式的兴起与遍地开花，众多废旧老厂房被改造成文化创意园，曾经被冷落的这座废弃的宰牲场终于横空出世，从廉价仓库摇身一变而成了文化创意园，成了上海一处时尚地标。

       走进1933老场坊，这座由英国建筑设计大师巴尔弗斯担纲设计，有着古罗马巴西里卡风格的老建筑，尤其是错综复杂的内部空间给人留下了深刻的印象。东南西北4栋建筑围成的四方形厂区与中间一座24边形的主楼通过楼梯相连。整个建筑高低错落，廊道盘旋，设计精密宛如迷宫，却又次序分明。超过三百根的宽大伞形柱均匀分布在建筑方形的外围体量中，独立支撑起雄伟的建筑。八角形和四边形的伞状柱帽是该建筑最重要的特色之一，八角形伞形柱帽主要分布于建筑外围的西侧，方形伞形柱帽主要分布于建筑外围的其他部分。廊桥空间是该建筑最具有特质的特征之一，其独具的魅力来自于建筑光影所形成的神秘而富于变化的空间。
