俗话说“朝霞不出门，晚霞行千里”，就是说，早晨出现鲜红的朝霞，说明大气中水滴已经很多，预示天气将要转雨。如果出火红色或金黄色的晚霞，预示天气将要转晴。果然，元月15日早晨，扬州上空一场绚丽的朝霞，演变为下午的漫天彤云，令千年一遇的日环食成为千古遗憾。
