Do you want some rice?说课稿

Good morning, teachers! I'm NO.4. I'm very glad to stand here to talk about my teaching design.The topic is from NSE Book4 Module 4 unit 1 . The title is Do you want some rice? My design includes six parts. They are analysis of teaching material, teaching aims, key points and difficult points, teaching methods, teaching procedures and blackboard design.

First :the analysis of the teaching material.

This is a dialogue. It has fourteen sentences and six new words. Daming and Amy are talking about what they want, which food they want to eat. It's related to our daily life. Through studying this unit, Ss can use the words and sentences to talk about food.

   Our Ss are in Grade 4 ,they are active and interested in new things. After studying English for a year, they have got some basic English background knowledge. I think it's not difficult for them to understand the dialogue and use the knowledge in this unit.

Second: Teaching aims

knowledge aim : make Ss master the new words :juice ice potato, tomato food rice

              and sentences: Do you want some.......?                             .

ability aim : improve Ss' abilities of listening and speaking, reading and writing.

          Use the new words and structures to talk about food.

emotional aim :develop Ss’ learning interest and spirit of self-study and respecting others.

Third: key points and difficult points

key points: make sure that Ss can master the new words and they can use the patterns in real situations.

difficult points: make sure that Ss can use the knowledge in their daily life .

Fourth: Teaching methods and aids: In order to achieve the aims ,I'll use the task-based teaching method and pair work method and communicative method, first learning then teaching. In order to interest the Ss, I'll use some pictures, a tape-recorder and multi-media as my teaching aids.

Fifth: Teaching procedures. It is the most important part. I’ll finish this unit in 5 steps:

Step 1 warming-up 

Greet the Ss with daily conversation: Hello, boys and girls. Glad to see you.

Glad to see you, too.

Let's sing a song .OK?  OK!  << Do you like noodles/coffee? >>. You sing very well.

Purpose: It is to form a better English surrounding and provide situations to review the learned knowledge for the next step.

Step 2 Presentation

Learn the new words: 

Guide 1 (自学指导一) :

Boys and girls, let’s have a guessing game.   T: What am I eating?     What am I drinking?

Ss:....................

 Look at the picture. ( PPT ) What's it?  Can you guess?  Follow me to read

  Juice  rice   potato  tomato   food  soup

Purpose: Present the new words one by one. I'll use pictures, cards and actions to learn the new words, I’ll try my best to get all the students to take part in the activities.

Step 3 Text teaching

Guide 2 (自学指导二)

I will design 2 activities to finish the task:

Activity 1 is a listening activity, look at the pictures:  Who are they?  what are they doing  Listen to the tape carefully and try your best to answer my questions :

Q1: Does Lingling want some rice?

Q2: Does Lingling want some noodles?

Then listen again and find and point "Do you want......?"

 Purpose: practise Ss' listening skill.

Activity 2 :Practise

Present the dialogue with multimedia (PPT), read after the tape, pay attention to the pronunciation and intonation.

 说课文中的目标语句:Look, Amy ,Chinese food. Do you want some.........?

Divide the class into groups, encourage Ss to add expressions and actions, then ask some Ss to come to the front to act out the dialogue.

Purpose : practice Ss' speaking skill.

Step4 Development

Look at the pictures. : 呈现相似的图片 (PPT)

Make a new dialogue with your partner according to the patterns .I will give you 5 minutes to prepare. I'll ask some students to read the answers. 

Step 5 Homework

write some dialogues with the new words and sentences:  Do you want some…….?

Purpose: Make sure Ss can use the new words and patterns.

Fifth: Blackboard design

Module 4 Unit 1   Do you want some rice?

Do you want some…….?                  rice

Yes, please.                            potatoes

No, thank you.                         tomato

Purpose make sure Ss understand the main points easily and clearly.
