【见行堂语】

 为什么叫做众生。就是执著，执著五蕴，与“色，受，想，行，识”染着缠绵，所以名为众生。
那么一切凡夫圣者的修道，都是据此而来的，根据这个道理来的。

Why are we named sentient beings?

This is because we have attachments,

clinging to the five aggregates of form;

 feeling, perception, volition and consciousness. 

 For this we are named sentient beings.

The cultivation of all people, ordinary people or the sage,

are all based on this concept and theory.
