Dear Wenjian Wu,

Thank you very much for accepting our invitation for the 38th Poetry International Festival, from June 16 until June 22 2007, in the City Theatre of Rotterdam. We are happy and honoured to have you as our guest. For a visa we will send another invitation letter to you by mail and use your own name Wenjian Wu.

We also thank you for sending us your selection of poems. As mentioned in our invitation, we need them so early to have good translations made and to prepare the festival anthology Hotel Parnassus.

The translations will also be published in a small chapbook for the festival audience, and will be projected on a large screen simultaneously with your reading. Apart from that, they will be presented on our websites www.poetry.nl en www.poetryinternational.org. We assume that we have your permission for these festival publications, so please let us know when you have any objections. You can read in your own language and your reading time will be approximately 15 minutes. Radio Nederland Wereldomroep will make recordings of all festival readings for the audio archive of Poetry International.

In order to prepare your visit and reading properly, may we ask you a few other things?

Firstly: could you send us the following before March 21:

-    a recent photograph of yourself

-    a fotocopy of your passport or identity card (we need this in order to be able to pay your fee)

-    a copy of your latest poetrybook(s), if available

-    (information about) existing translations of your poetry in English, German or French, if available

-    bio- and bibliographical information, including year and place of birth

-    some worthwhile articles about your work

We will use this information mainly for the festival promotion. Your translator and the person who will introduce you to the audience may need some of the information as well.

If you have any special wishes for your poetry reading, we would be very happy to arrange anything you need. It would be helpful for us as well to know whether you have any objections against interviews.

Finally, we must urgently ask you to consult us before you accept any further invitations for readings during the period of your stay in Rotterdam. As you may understand, this will facilitate our programming of the festival.

Thank you in advance for supplying us with all the necessary information. We will keep you informed about all the programs scheduled. Our colleague Katja Nootenboom  has contacted you, or will do so in due time, to arrange your travel documents and hotel accommodation. 现有的关于介绍翻译您诗歌的外语信息（英，德，法皆可，如果有的话），

个人作品目录，包含创作年份和地点，

一些有价值的关于您作品的文章

 以上的信息我们主要用作诗歌节的推广。您作品的译者以及给观众介绍您的工作人员也将需要这些信息。

如果您对您的诵读有任何特殊期望需要，我们将很乐于为您安排，如果你对采访任何异议也请告诉我们，那将对我们的工作很有帮助。

最后，我们紧急的通知您，您在鹿特丹期间收到的任何其他的诵读邀请，接受之前，请向我们咨询，这样有利于我对诗歌节的规划。
