Dr. Kwiatkowski's
project focuses on the genetics of familial ALS.
He intends to identify new ALS genes, employing both traditional
and novel approaches.
Originally from New York Dr. Kwiatkowski attended Duke University
as an undergraduate. He then trained at Baylor
College of Medicine, receiving a Ph.D. in Molecular Genetics and an
M.D. He completed a Neurology residency at Mayo
Graduate School of Medicine in Rochester, MN.
He then spent one year as an advanced clinical fellow at Mayo
Clinic Scottsdale, specializing in Neuromuscular and
Neurodegenerative disorders. After a brief stint
on staff at Mayo, he returned to full-time research, this time at
Massachusetts General Hospital/Harvard Medical
School. His recent clinical appointment in
Neurology will allow him to see patients at the MGH Neuromuscular
Clinic.
