话说在洛杉矶巴沙迪那社区学院（PCC）有一位华裔教授李荣昌（Ron Chang Lee），他将人工智能应用于互动英语教学，设计了一款“网上教学机器人”，入围国际人工智能洛贝拉奖（Loebner Prize，洛贝拉奖是国际人工智能领域的顶级奖项），将于10月赴英国University of Exeter举行参加2011国际洛贝拉奖冠军角逐。

李荣昌教授设计的网上互动教学机器人，可以回答学生提出的任何英语、政治、历史、地理甚至私人问题，在解答中还会纠正使用者的书写错误。李荣昌表示，这款教学机器人有男女教师两款，学生可在任何时间请教机器人教师，免去害羞心理，完全免费并可锻炼打字能力。李荣昌表示，每天他都查看点击次数及所问问题，正在增加数据库资料，网上机器人点击量每月达千万次。
