Director of Education – Pioneer Valley Chinese Immersion Charter School

The Pioneer Valley Chinese Immersion Charter School (PVCICS) is seeking an experienced Director of Education. This fall PVCICS will have over 150 students enrolled in K-3rd grade and a new 6th grade entry point. PVCICS plans to expand to be a fully articulated K-12 program.
The Director of Education (DE) reports to the Principal. The Director of Education will oversee the day-to-day management of the educational program:
- Supervising non-SPED instructional staff, including ELL staff. Works with Principal to hire non-SPED instructional faculty. Mentoring and assessing teachers. Overseeing the professional development program. Supporting teachers on all teaching-related issues.
- Ensuring that the curriculum and instructional techniques support PVCI’s mission and philosophy, and that the curriculum is aligned with the MA Curriculum Frameworks. Reviewing and offering feedback on teachers’ curricula and teaching. Reviewing PVCI’s curricula to determine effectiveness and overseeing implementation of changes.
- Creating plans for communication between parents, faculty and administration. Collecting feedback on the educational program. Communicating with parents about student concerns.
- Ensuring PVCI meets its student achievement objectives.
PVCICS is located in the 5 college region of western Massachusetts.
