Upper/Middle School Mandarin Chinese Teacher

University Prep seeks a full-time Chinese teacher to assume the following responsibilities:

• Teach 2-4 sections of Chinese which will include a combination of Upper School and Middle School level courses
• Develop the Chinese program for the future
• Work collaboratively with other departments to raise the profile of the Chinese program.
• Serve as an advisor to 10 - 12 students
• Actively participate in the life of the school as a coach or club advisor
• Perform other non-teaching duties as assigned by the Director of Upper School

Qualifications: University Prep seeks a dynamic individual committed to teaching the whole child. Candidates must possess demonstrated competence and experience in the content area and pedagogy as well as demonstrated written and spoken fluency in the target language. Preference will be given to a candidate who is a native speaker. Successful candidates will have flexibility, energy, enthusiasm, high expectations and an understanding of the developmental needs of both Upper and Middle School aged students.
