EARLY ELEMENTARY TEACHER

Start Date: Mid-August 2007

Location: Panama City Renaissance School, Panama City, FL

Material to be taught: Mandarin language instruction (reading, writing and speaking), science, math, geography, history

Classroom Approach: All teaching and discussion with the students will be in Mandarin Chinese. Teacher must be able to communicate with the parents in English. The curriculum is quite accelerated for the US.

Required Experience: Minimum of 2 years teaching experience, native fluency in Mandarin Chinese, ability to communicate in English.

Additional: Strong science and math background desirable. Teaching experience with young children is not required to apply for the job. However, by March of 2007, at least 100 hours in a K4 or early elementary classroom hours (paid or volunteer) must be documented. Teachers are required to take a test to demonstrate subject matter proficiency. Teachers can choose teaching only track or teaching/research track.

Pay: Depends on experience and background.
