Power Shift by Toffler
(1999) described the changing landscape in new century, in
author's eyes, Violence, Fortune & Knowledge were
three key forces that determine the Power's transformation, no
doubt, knowledge is the most demographic elements of them. How to
manage knowledge embedded in enterprise and its employees? How to
leverage it to reach profitability and success? Team work, core
value, intuition, imagination.....
Cloud wisdom, User-generated Content, social networking....all
these words also means the shift of power from supplier to
consumer, yes, enormous power has been put in the hands of over 100
million Internet users in China by capabilities empowered by these
sites, this shift has ever resulted in the high valuation of this
kind of startups over last two years, now, economy recession may
cool this round of immature tech hype.
UGC in itself is not a new phenomenon, but we can easily find
power is shifting to the consumer with the surging of UGC, what
happened in this process, and who are key influencers? we do
not know exact answer yet. These days I read some materials about
cloud wisdom, something just like scientific
fantasy...haha....
But trends is really hard to forecast, whether
consumer can use their power properly? or become a
unconsciously mass violence? although shift of power is wide
and inevitable, but everyone need to remember not to let the
desire for the perfect drive out of the good.
