孔子鸟的骨骼，经过研究，认为孔子鸟的确已经能够飞翔，但是因为胸还不够大，只能平飞，还不能从地面上一飞冲天。和今天的野鸡相似。

这是美国科学家Feduccia所绘孔子鸟复原图，由于当时化石不全和抑制不住的兴奋，这幅图的尾部严重失真，活像始祖鸟了，后来才发现孔子鸟比始祖鸟先进的多。

能想到么？其实孔子鸟和始祖鸟几乎是同一个时代的动物，只差三百万年。哦，三百万年前我们还是大猴子呢，不过对于一亿四千万年前的鸟类来说，这是一个非常 接近的时间了。始祖鸟有75%的爬行动物特征，而孔子鸟已经只有25%象它的祖先小恐龙了，也许，它晚出现三百万年，只是孔子先生固有的谦让精神吧。

在孔子鸟发现之后，北票的鸟儿从孔子鸟的肩上接连不断的飞向了天空。发现一个接着一个，征服天空的故事，终于可以被清晰地描述出来了。
