2005年，著名艺术家韩美林先生把几十年来潜心创作的一千件艺术品捐献给了与他素有情缘的杭州市。为了收藏、陈列韩美林先生的艺术品，杭州市人民政府特在毗邻西湖的杭州植物园腹地兴建了“韩美林艺术馆”，以期将韩美林先生璀璨灵动的艺术融入西湖文化的筋脉，给这座历史文化名城增添新的神韵，并将韩美林先生的艺术精神不断地发扬光大。

           The Han Meilin Art Museum in Hangzhou

 In 2005, Mr.Han Meilin, China’s National First-Class Artist and a famous art master,donated 1,000 art works he meticulously created over decades to Hangzhou, a city always dear to his heart with a view to collecting, preserving and displaying the art works of Mr.Han Meilin ,the Hangzhou City People’s Government has built the Han Meilin Art Museum in the center of the Hangzhou  Botanical Garden near the neighboring West Lake .It is hoped that the museum will integrate the splendid art works of  Mr.Han Meilin into the curture of the West Lake ,add charm to the renowned historic city and continuously carry forward the artistic spirit of the great master.
