本期教师英语口语听力培训班的报名截止日期是10月15日，我犹豫到当日下午近五时才去交钱报名。我实在担心自己坚持不下来。1000元钱倒不是最关键的，半途而废该多lose face啊...专业性质所致，出差机会较多，下旬就要去韩国一周，11-12月份应该有两次野外工作（如果到时我的身体没有特殊情况下，嘿嘿）。但是，想到确实要给自己一些压力，我还是决定报了名。

    昨晚是第一次课。授课的是一位和蔼可亲的老太太，名为Marilyn White, from Brigham Young University,教授过美国历史和世界历史，从事过新闻业（Journalism)，目前是我们学校的英文外教，已来中国两年。老太太很幽默，边介绍边在黑板上画一个个笑脸，竟然有八个孩子，其中一个已去世，其余的在从事着医生、IT等职业。（当时我就想，老太太活得真潇洒哦，她来中国肯定不是为了钱，应该是喜欢执教，喜欢到处走走看看吧。我老了的时候，会不会有这种劲头？去世界需要的地方传播知识，顺便经历大不同的风土人情。最好去非洲。嘿嘿）

    第一次上课，免不了有自我介绍。我稍稍打了腹稿，说得还是有些磕巴。整理下昨晚的发言：

    Hello!Everyone! My name is MCM. Ma is my family name and it means a horse. In my name there is a "mei", which means plum flowers. So I love plum flowers best because they are beautiful and graceful. I gratuated and got the PH.D. from Nanjing university last year. Now I'm a teacher in School of Geographic and Oceanographic Sciences. In my sparetime, I like singing, reading and play basketball. In 2005, I took part in an international meeting and gave a short talk in English luckily as a student representative. I'll never forget my great nervousness because of poor oral English and listening comprehension at that time. So I feel deeply that the oral English is very important and want to make some progress in this class. That'all. Thank you!

    昨晚说的时候，脑子断电，突然不知道“进步”该怎么说，只好磕磕巴巴地用“become better”代替，意思表达出来了，但不恰当，呵呵！

    接下来的单词和听力训练我可真晕了。老师给的五个单词(voracious狼吞虎咽的，贪婪的, indiscriminate不分青红皂白的，不加选择的, eminent, steeped沉浸, replete充满的)我就认识俩（eminent, steeped)，而且对steeped的涵义把握不足。

    听力很糟糕。对老师的美式英语不适应，一段话听了两遍，光顾上反应词汇了，没抓住要旨。

    路漫漫也！要找些美语的听力段子，经常轰炸耳朵。我会尽量在博客里记录下每次的上课整理与感触，同时达到复习巩固的目的。
