THE MOST FANTASTIC PARTY I HAVE EVER ATTENDED！
 

Tonight, the Brazilians gave one of 2 nights of yearly carnival parties.  I call it party because even the audience is dancing all night. It is really not a party, because it is really a big competition.  Ther are like 12 "schools"  which compete each year for the the title of the winner of the carnival.  they are serious about this.  they spend a whole year preparing for it.   5 hours of the same samba music.  I went at 9pm but by 3am, it is still going strong.  there are to be 2 more hours to go.  But the sound the sight and the magnificence of the performace overshadows anything you can imagine you will ever see.

刚刚忙完冬奥会的相关事情，我又来到了巴西里约热内卢。这几天热得不得了，快摄氏40度吧，本来嘉年华就热情似火，这次真是让Samba的热度到了最高点。

我把这场嘉年华会叫做party，整晚的音乐不曾停歇，不仅是舞者，连所有的观众都在不停跳舞。我去的时候是晚上9点，到凌晨3点，竟感觉人们越跳越起劲啊！音乐、舞蹈，华丽的表演，冲击你所有的想象。

I actually did a story about the Carnival 20 years ago when I took 2 TV crew to china.  But i did not get there in february which is summer for Brazil.  I however managed to interview the owner of one of the 'schools"  and went through with him how they prepared the costumes, the floats, the dancing and the directing.  I used existing footage for the carnival in the school.  So I do know a lot of about the carnival.  But nothing prepares me for such a spectacular event.

20年前我的“世界各地”就做过关于嘉年华的节目。虽然那次我并没有在巴西的夏季二月亲历嘉年华，但我还是采访到了“schools”的owner，和他一起参观服装、道具的制作过程。我当时做了很多功课，选用了他们现有的不少素材，按道理说，我应该很知道嘉年华了啊，但昨晚的经历，还是让我兴奋不已！

I was a guest of the Mr. Joseph Bitton who is the Director General of LOreal in South America.  He and his wife and his associate Mr. Francois Feneart were my most gracious hosts.  I was in a special "box"  so you do not mix with the general public.  it is really very special areas being guarded by security and all.  (my picture with my body guard in grey)
