Nokia 9300 is my only gain in so many kinds of prize draws at the end of 2005. I opened the box and enjoyed it when I got it. 9300 is a smartphone based on Symbian 80 operating system. We can use it to send or receive emails, look up dictionaries or arrange my schedules. The only pity is that I cannot use the wi-fi function because China’s regulator is trying its best to promote homegrown security standard, WAPI.

I also downloaded some software into 9300, maybe mobile book reading is fascinating for me. I installed a software named mbookreader. I can use its tools to make my own mobile books. I think mobile books will be future killer applications, because we can enjoy the novels on the way to home or work.

Of course 9300 also has some drawbacks. For example it is very heavy compared with other smartphones. Because there are no 3G networks in China, surfing internet by mobile phone is still too early. Furthermore 9300 has no camera, which is not convenient for young users.

Compared with my sony ericsson P910C, I think that p910c can use hand writing and operation becomes very convenient. Maybe I prefer p910c to 9300.
