Chandeen来自德国，在1990年由Oliver Henkel和Harald建立。其后两年，Aline Akbari与Antje Schulz先后加入，她们二位就是乐队最初两年的主唱。乐队名称据称来自乐队核心人物Harald Lowy前女友的一只宠物名；但在印语中更含有“神游天籁”的意思。

组队不久，Chandeen就发生人员变动，Aline Akbari离开，代替她的是Catrin Mallon。同期，Chandeen加入天音厂牌Hyperium，并于94年发行了他们的第一张大碟《Shaded by the leaver》。95年第二张大碟《Jutland》发表，被喻为当时“近年来最好的音乐专辑”。但随着《Jutland》的完成，这支乐队内部出现了问题，更一度传出解散的危机。Catrin 和 Oliver选择离开Chandeen，另组乐队Edera。但Harald很快找来拥有蓝调/民歌背景的Stephanie Harich来代替Catrin为第二女主音，并于1995 年出版Catrin和 Oliver离队后第一张唱片EP "Light Within Time"；97年发行第三张专辑《The waking dream》。

1997年Chandeen离开Hyperium，转投Synthetic Symphony旗下。99年乐队发行了新专辑《Spacerider - Love at First Sight》；2001年发表第五张专辑《Bikes and Pyramids》。这两张专辑已经趋向POP的方向。

2003年的《Echoes》，它回归了Chandeen的传统。配乐恬静典雅，Antje Schulz的音色纯净甜美，令听者恍入仙境。
