The Goethe Institut of the German Cultural Center in Beijing and
the Central Academy of Fine Arts jointly organized the exhibition
“Germany: the Realm of Art” “Culture in Talks” Seminar was held at
the the opening of the exhibition. The seminar started with the
dialogues between artists. Then Liu Yuedi hosted the second part:
Scholars’ Keynote Speech with the theme of Global Dialogue Doctrine
and the Construction of a Contemporary Culture Identity. The speech
was given by Jin Huimin Academy, and those presented engaged fully
in the discussion about the “Global Dialogue Doctrine”. Liu Yuedi
also highlighted that it was the bridge of communication that made
“a shore become the shore”. The third part was discussions between
Chinese and foreign curators on the subject of Tactics
& Manner in Cultural Dialogue, and How to Present
the Concepts of Home and Aboard Through Curation, which was
participated in by Ursula Zeller (German curator), Thomas Eller
(German curator), Feng Boyi (curator) and Wang Chunchen
(curator).In the summing-up phase, Liu Yuedi emphasized we should
agree to disagree, disagreements were referring to diversity,
agreements were referring to being harmonious, and sameness stifled
the development. Everyone shared with each other about the
curatorial experience.
