　　A HERO RESURRECTED

　　Uncle Lei Feng* has come back!

　　A young man of 22

　　Stands in our midst, awkward with strangers

　　Wears a shy smile,

　　Has on a leather jacket, the only sign

　　Of the Lei Feng who always cared well for himself

　　In years gone by. He has never publicized

　　The bulging wad in his pocket:

　　Royalties for the DIARY OF LEI FENG

　　Paid retroactively---we’re talking tens of thousands!

　　What a twist of fate:

　　In years when being poor was glorious,

　　He was loveable for his empty pockets.

　　Now he makes himself over

　　Into a man of minor means!
