因弗内斯是苏格兰高地地区的首府，也是全苏格兰海拔最高的城市。车子穿城而过的时候，窗外的一切都湿漉漉的，市内见不到高大的现代建筑，人们的行动节奏看上去也很舒缓，完全是一派远离喧嚣的景象。实际上，这里的现代生活质量在全英国189个城市中位居第五。告别了苏格兰、英格兰之间兵戎相见的历史，在这样一片风光绮丽的土地上享有平和的生活似乎是件理所当然的事。

27. 尼斯河上，Inverness是盖尔语的英语音译，意为“尼斯河口”，这个词在英语中还有个意思是“外罩圆领披风的宽松长大衣”，在这个地方生活显然也是需要这么件衣服的 ：）

本以为Kevin会停车让我们到街上走走，但不到十分钟车子已经穿过了整个城市再次上到公路，这时Kevin在讲解中开始频繁提到“詹姆斯党”。又过了十分钟，路边出现一片被围栏圈住的平坦草地，里面插着几面红旗和蓝旗。直到前方路口出现一块大标牌俺才知道，又一个停车参观的主要景点到了，就是那片插着旗子的大草地。
