I.The analysis of students

Students in Grade 4 is very young, and their attention can’t keep long, so we need to design kinds of activities to keep the atmosphere lively to make students learn happily. They are very interested in talking about weather, so it’s easy to guide them to learn.

II. The analysis of teaching material

The topic of the lecture is chosen from Part B Read and write in Unit 3 of Book 4, PEP Primary English. The main contents of this unit are about the words and sentence patterns of talking about weather. It is the six period of this unit. The topic is interesting and related to students

III. Teaching objectives

1. Knowledge objectives

1. By the end of this lesson, students will be able to read and understand the text.

2. By the end of this lesson, students will be able to understand the meaning of “love” and “fly”.

2. Ability objectives

1.Students will know how to answer the question according to the content of the text.

2. Students will know write the new sentences according to the example and write a letter to talk about the weather.

3.Emotional objectives

1.Know what to wear according to the weather and care about the weather.

2.Know the weather is different from place to place.

IV. Teaching Key Points and Difficult Points

Teaching Key Points:

1. Know how to answer the question according to the content of the text.

2. Students can understand and say : it’s …and …Is it …?Yes ,it is. No, it isn’t

Teaching Difficult Points:

1. Kow how to write the new sentences according to the example.

2. Write a letter to talk about the weather.

The Audio-Visual Method, Situational Teaching .

PPT, cards ,postcards and the blackboard.

VII. Teaching procedures

Step 1 Warming up & leading in

2. Watch a video of weather report .

Step 2. Pre-readig

1.    What do you know from the picture.

2. Introduce the postcard.

(设计意图:培养学生图片分析能力,初步感知明信片)

Step 3. While-reading

1.Activity 1: tick or cross

2.Activity 2: explain the parts of the postcard.

3.Activity 3:explain meaning of words :fly and love

4.Activity 4:read and answer questions.

(设计意图设计不同的层次不同的活动,提升学生分析问题,理解文章内容的能力)

Step 4. Post-reading

1.Activity 1:look and write.

2.Activity 2:write a postcard.

(设计意图:通过2 项活动让学生掌握文章重点知识,学以致用)

1. Read the text

2. Write a postcard

(设计意图:作业是课堂教学的延伸,通过这两项作业,让学生在扎实掌握本课所学的单词和句型之外,还能够真实地运用到学生的生活中)
