Lesson 5 Meet Ms. Liu

教学设计

【教材分析】

本课是冀教版教材八年级上册第一单元第五课,本单元的话题是“Me and My Class”。在重归校园后,学生谈论他们的新学年、新同学、新老师。对这一话题,学生们都很感兴趣。“Lesson 5 Meet Ms. Liu”是李明以报告的形式介绍他的英语老师Ms. Liu。通过本课的学习,学生需要理解、掌握文章的大意,学会如何谈论、描写人物。同时,也要培养学生独立思考、归纳总结、解决问题的能力。

【教学目标】

语言知识目标:掌握单词someone, England, discuss, patient.

语言技能目标:让学生理解并掌握如何介绍人物。

情感态度目标:引导学生学会尊重老师,热爱老师。

【教学重点】

1. 掌握本课的重点单词和短语:someone, England, discuss, patient, encourage sb. to do …, feel lucky to do ….

2. 激发学生的学习兴趣,培养学生的学习能力。

【教学难点】

1.重点句型的掌握:

I feel lucky to have Ms. Liu as my English teacher.

She encourages us to ask questions and discuss the answers with each other.

2. 引导学生掌握介绍人物的写法。

【教学方法】

任务教学法、情景交际法、小组合作法

【教学准备】

【教学过程】

Step1:Warm-up and Free talk:

Play a game “Laugh and smile” to warm up and invite the students who can not follow the game to talk some questions freely, such as “Who is your favorite teacher?” / “What's her/his name?”/ “What do you know about him/her?”.

 

(设计意图:游戏的设置一方面为了缓解学生的紧张情绪,拉近师生间的距离;另一方面邀请不能跟上游戏的学生回答问题,为下一步教学活动做铺垫。)

Step2:Presentation:

Introduce the teacher myself to students from the following aspects: name, hometown, job, study, teaching, personality, interests and so on to set an example for students about how to introduce a person.

 

 

(设计意图:利用学生对老师的好奇心,创设情境,从介绍老师自身入手,让学生了解、体会如何介绍人物,从哪些方面进行介绍,为后面学生的写作进行知识储备。与此同时,将本课的一些重点单词在此进行展现、讲解。)

 

Step3: Listening:

Play the tape for the students and let them listen to the text and write true or false for the following five statements. Before listening, let students read the statements first and try to understand the meaning of each sentence. After listening, check the answers one by one. If the statement is false, ask students to correct the mistakes.                          

 

(设计意图:在训练学生听力的同时,让学生对本课的内容有一个初步的感知。在听力训练的过程中,注重对学生听力技巧的培养,如听前熟悉听力材料,听后如何纠错、改错。)

Step4: Reading:

    Let students read the text first. After they finish reading the text, let them find out the answers to some questions. If they are not sure about the answers, they can have a discussion with their group members. Then ask them to share and check their answers. According to the answers to the questions, lead students to retell the text.

 

(设计意图:在学生听读初步感知课文的基础上,让学生再次阅读课文,对文本内容有进一步的了解;通过回答问题,更深层次地掌握文章的细节以及语言知识;并通过根据关键词复述课文,对课文内容加以巩固。)

Step5: Group-work:

Ask students to work in groups: prepare some questions, interview one of the teachers, and write down the information about him/her, such as name, job, interests … . When they finish their interview, sum up and organize the information they got and write a short passage about the teacher they interviewed.

 

(设计意图:让学生走出课堂,运用课堂所学,表达自己,进行交流交际,达到锻炼学生的口语表达、人际交流、归纳总结、逻辑思维等能力。)

Step6: Writing:

Write s short passage about the teacher they interviewed and share their works with the whole class.

 

(设计意图:通过前期的知识储备和文本解读,将本课的落脚点落在写作上,让学生以短文的形式展示自己本课所学,锻炼学生的写作能力。)

Step7: Summary:

Guide students to say something to their teachers, such as “Thank you”. Tell students that: Teachers are "the seed of the true, the messenger of the good, the banner of the beautiful". Because of teachers, our life is full of sunshine. Let students remember that they should respect and love their teachers.

 

(设计意图:借助学生对老师说的话以及有关教师的名言,让学生学会尊重老师,热爱老师,达到情感教育的目的。)

Step8: Homework:

Polish the passage the students write about their teacher.
