原版英文绘本分享Eric Carl 系列之 The very hungry caterpillar

鼎鼎大名的《很饿的毛毛虫》可以说简直成了绘本的代名词，是卡尔爷爷最负盛名的绘本，全球大小开本累计发行超过2000万本！

这是一本只要你看一眼就一定会喜欢上的绘本，不仅因为它独具匠心的页面设计，极致的色彩运用，还有那里面全是小孩子喜欢的各种食物。看看，里面这只可爱的，红脑袋，绿身子的毛毛虫连走路都那么调皮，小小的脚一弓一弓地走路的实在太cute了。

猪仔最喜欢就是不停地用小手去戳那里面的小洞洞，而且很兴奋地找到毛毛虫就藏在另外一面，当发现毛毛虫吃得太多肚子痛时他会很难过，当毛毛虫变成了美得无与伦比的蝴蝶时他会开心地欢呼……

这绘本能教给小孩什么呢？认识数字，星期，食物名称，教导他们不能一次吃那么多的东西，甚至让他们理解“破茧成蝶”的深刻寓意，我想都有也都没有，因为我一直认为绘本最大的意义还是用来感受快乐的。

绘本大师松居直讲过这样一段话：图画书对幼儿没有任何“用途”，不是拿来学习东西的，而是用来感受快乐的。而且一本图画书越有趣，它的内容越能深刻地留在孩子的记忆里，在成长过程中，或是长大成人后，他自然能理解其中的意义。

In the light of the moon, a little egg lay on a leaf.

月光下，一个小小的卵躺在树叶上。

One Sunday morning the warm sun came up and – pop! – out of the egg came a tiny and very hungry caterpillar.

一个星期天的早晨,暖暖的太阳升起来了!啪!从卵壳里钻出一条又饿又瘦的小毛毛虫.

He started to look for some food.

他四下寻找可以吃的东西.

On Monday the ate through one apple, but he was still hungry.

星期一,他啃穿了一个苹果,可他还是觉得饿.

On Tuesday he ate through two pears, but he was still hungry.

星期二 ，他吃穿了两个梨， 但他还是很饿。

On Wednesday he ate through three plums, but he was still hungry.

On Thursday he ate through four strawberries, but he was still hungry.

On Friday he ate through five oranges, but he was still hungry.

On Saturday he ate through one piece of chocolate cake, one ice-cream cone, one pickle, one slice of Swiss cheese, one slice of salami, one lollipop, one piece of cherry pie, one sausage, one cupcake, and one slice of watermelon. That night he had a stomachache.

周六,他吃了一个巧克力蛋糕,一个雪糕筒,一个凉瓜,一片瑞士芝士, 一条意大利香肠,一个棒棒糖,一块樱桃馅饼, 一条香肠, 一个纸杯蛋糕,一片西瓜. 那天晚上他的胃痛了.

The next day was Sunday again. The caterpillar ate through one nice green leaf, and after that he felt much better.

第二天又是星期天.毛毛虫只吃了一片可爱的绿树叶,这一回他感觉好多了.

Now he wasn’t hungry any more, and he wasn’t a little caterpillar any more. He was a big, fat caterpillar.

现在他一点都不饿了, 他不再是那条小小的毛毛虫了.他变成一条胖嘟嘟的大毛毛虫了.

(毛毛虫长胖了，身体圆滚滚的，更添了几分滑稽的色彩)

He built a small house called a cocoon, around himself. He stayed inside for more than two weeks.

它围绕身体造了一座叫做”茧”的小房子.他在那里面带了两个多礼拜.

Then he nibbled a hole in the cocoon, pushed his way out…

然后,他就在茧壳上啃出一个洞,钻了出来…

And he was a beautiful butterfly!

最后他变成了一只美丽的蝴蝶!
