永遇乐·京口北固亭怀古
                 辛弃疾
千古江山，英雄无觅，孙仲谋处。
舞榭歌台，风流总被雨打风吹去。
斜阳草树，寻常巷陌，人道寄奴曾住。
想当年，金戈铁马，气吞万里如虎。

元嘉草草，封狼居胥，赢得仓皇北顾。
四十三年，望中犹记，烽火扬州路。
可堪回首，佛狸祠下，一片神鸦社鼓。
凭谁问，廉颇老矣，尚能饭否？
       此诗英译前需要读懂，并且需要对读者做如下注释。
      注释：
京口：古城名，即今江苏镇江。
孙仲谋：三国时的吴王孙权，字仲谋，曾建都京口。后建都京口附近的南京。
寄奴：南朝宋武帝刘裕小名。 汉族，先祖是彭城人（今江苏徐州市），后来迁居到京口。
“想当年”三句：刘裕曾两次领兵北伐，收复洛阳、长安等地。
“元嘉草草”句：元嘉是刘裕子刘义隆年号。草草：轻率。南朝宋刘义隆仓促北伐，遭到北魏太武帝拓跋焘的重创。封狼居胥：公元前119年（汉武帝元狩四年）霍去病远征匈奴，歼敌七万余，封狼居胥山而还。狼居胥山，在今蒙古境内。南朝宋文帝刘义隆命王玄谟北伐，玄谟陈说北伐的策略，文帝说：“闻王玄谟陈说，使人有封狼居胥意”。但结果 这次“元嘉北伐”失利。赢得仓皇北顾:指刘义隆北伐失败，其大军望风而逃，即望着北方仓皇逃窜，
烽火扬州路：指宋高宗绍兴三十二年南归时当年扬州路上，到处是金兵南侵的战火烽烟。
“四十三年”句：1162年（宋高宗绍兴三十二年）南归到辛弃疾写该词时正好是四十三年。
佛（bì）狸祠：北魏太武帝拓跋焘小名佛狸。公元450年，他打败南朝刘义隆，在长江北岸建立行宫，即后来的佛狸祠。
神鸦：指在庙里吃祭品的乌鸦。社鼓：祭祀时的鼓声。整句话的意思是，到了南宋时期，当地老百姓只把佛狸祠当作一位神祇来奉祀供奉，而不知道它过去曾是外族胜利者皇帝的行宫。
廉颇：战国时赵国名将。《史记·廉颇蔺相如列传》记载，廉颇被免职后，跑到魏国，赵王想再用他，派人去看他的身体情况，赵王问回来的使者：廉颇老矣，尚能饭否？使者报告说：“廉颇将军虽老，尚善饭，然与臣坐，顷之三遗矢（通假字，即屎）矣。”赵王遂不用廉颇。
       像这种有历史典故的爱国诗篇英译，我感到犹豫与困难。但在网上查到两种英译，推荐如下：

             Thinking of the past at Beigu Pavilion in Jingkou 
In this ancient land
What trace remains of Wu's brave king Sun Quan?
Towers and pavilions where girls danced and sang,
Your glory is swept away by wind and rain;
The slanting sunlight falls on grass and trees,
Small lanes, the quarters of the humble folk;
Yet here, they say, Liu Yu lived.
I think of the days gone by
When with gilded spear and iron-clad steed he charged
Like a tiger to swallow up vast territories.

In the days of Yuanjia
Hasty preparations were made
To march to the Langjuxu Mountains,
But the men of Song were routed from the north.
Now forty-three years have passed,
And looking north I remember
The beacon fires that blazed the way to Yangzhou;
Bitter memories these
Of sacred crows among the holy drums
In the Tartar emperor's temple.
Who will ask old Lian Po
If he still enjoys his food?

He seemed to swallow up all the boundless land like a tiger.

But his son made hasty preparations for the northern.march. 
As a result his army was defeated by enemy and fleed back.
it was the same when our refugees fleed driven by aggressors.
Forty-three years have passed since this our shameful event.
I never forget how the warfire burnt all the way to Yangzhou City.
But now people only know how to sing and dance in company with
Holy drums and sacred crows.before the Tartar emperor's temple.
