苏轼关于西湖的名诗英译对比漫谈
我很喜欢苏轼的那首诗，因为他用素描的方法，巧妙勾画出堪称天下第一美景的西湖；用看似脱口而出实则深思熟虑，看似抽象却富于形象，通俗易懂、朗朗上口地、言简意赅、画龙点睛地介绍了西湖作为旅游胜地最突出的特点与优点，铭记在世世代代的人们的记忆里：西湖，又称西子湖（这称呼不知是源于苏轼的这首诗还是民间早已有之，无论哪种情况，都说明苏轼这首名诗的功劳），其湖光山色无论在晴天雨天都是奇妙的，西湖的自然美恰如传说曾在西湖住过的绝代佳人西施；全诗语言明快淡雅，用词精练巧妙，比喻活泼新颖，意境深入浅出，韵味丰富悠长，堪称千古绝唱！
苏轼这首诗只有四句，而后两句最有名。可以说，“西湖”与“西子”互相成名，相得益彰。但正是这两个“西”字难倒了翻译家们。请看：
“水光潋滟晴方好，山色空濛雨亦奇; 欲把西湖比西子，淡装浓抹总相宜。”
