“空”译成In vain(枉费,白费了),我不敢苟同。 “闲池阁”:绍兴沈园很可能有池塘与楼台亭阁。 “浥”:沾湿。“鲛绡”:按《现代汉语词典》,“绡”是生丝,或表示“绸子”;“鲛”是鲨鱼。但“鲛”这里可能通“皎洁”的“皎”,表示“洁白”的意思。“泪痕红浥鲛绡透”译成白话是:眼睛哭得红肿,眼泪湿透了洁白的丝绸手帕。 “锦书难托”:难以找到人

James Jr. Liu译:
  Chai Tou Fent
  Tune “Phoenix Hairpin”
         by  Lu You
Pink creamy hands,Yellow-labeled wine,
Spring colours filling the city,
willows by the palace walls.
East wind hateful,
Joys of love scarce,
One heart full of sad thoughts,
How many years of separation!
Wrong, wrong, wrong!

Spring the same as before,
She grows thin in vain;
Red are the stains of tears
that have soaked the mermaid-silk scarf.
Peach blossoms fall,
Ponds and pavilions quiet;
Though maintainous vows remain
Letters of brocade can’t be sent.
No more, no more, no more!

Burton Watson
  Tune: “Phoenix Hairpin”
      by Lu You
Pink tender hand,
yellow-corded wine,
city crammed with spring hues,
willow by garden wall:
east wind hateful,
the one I loved cold ---
a heart all sadness,
parted how many years?
wrong! wrong! !wrong!

Spring as always,
Someone grown needlessly thin,
Red tear stains wet the kerchief,
soaking through mermaid gauze.
Peach petals falling,
Stillness of a pond pavilion:
Mountain-firm vows go on forever,
But a letter would be useless now -
Don’t don’t don’t

  THE GARDEN OF SHEN
  TUNE: PHOENIX HAIRPIN
Pink hands so fine,
Gold-branded wine,
Spring paints the willows green
palace walls can’t confine.
East wind unfair,
Happy times rare.
In my heart sad thoughts throng;
We severed for years long.
Wrong, wrong, wrong!

Spring is as green,
In vain she’s lean,
Her kerchief soaked with tears and red with stains unclean.
Peach blossoms fall
Near deserted hall.
Our oath is still there. Lo!
No word to her can go.
No, no, no!
In the spring of 1155, the poet met in the garden of Shen his first wife Tang Wan (See), whom he loved dearly, yet was compelled to divorce. Tang Wan offered him the gold-branded wine and he wrote this poem to which she wrote another in reply (See).

To the tune Cai Tou Feng(Tune: "Phonix Hairpin")
     Lu You  ( 1125-1210 )
You offered me a cup of golden wine,
With your pink creamy hands.
The whole town was flooded with spring,
Palace walls were covered with willows green.
Alas, the harsh east wind broke up our love!
Full of deep sorrow,I have tasted the separation,
For long years after our parting.
A great error, a great error,
It's a great error beyond repair!T
he beauty of spring remains,
Yet you are thin for love in vain.
Your red kerchief is soaked through
With tears stained with rouge.
Now peach blossoms have fallen;
Deserted here are the ponds and pavilions.
Even though our love pledges remain true,
There's no way to pass our love letters through.
Everything's over, everything's over,
My everlasting regret is beyond cure!

    Ornamental-Hairpin-Phoenix
   To the Melody Chai-tou-feng
                by Lu Youh (1125—1209)
Your pretty hands hold the Vine-wine-in-yellow.
The whole city is full of spring views
   with the vernal palace-wall willows.
The east wind is wicked to blow,
My mood is unhappy and low
My mind is gloomy with sorrow
I lived my solitude life several years ago.
Something wrong, oh, oh, oh.
Spring came as it did ago.
But in poor health were you.
your handkerchief was wet as tears were to flow.
The peach blossoms fell
The pavilion over a pond seemed to be idle.
An oath in mind was still told
but no note was easy to go,
No, no, no.

Thy ruddy fine hands came up
With wine in a yellow cup
In the spring-filled city of willows and palace wall.
In an easterly wind faulty,
Our passion disappear’d.
A whole bosom of woeAnd loneness for years.
Ough, ough, ough!

The same spring comes again,
But you’ve got skinny in vain.
Your teardrops bedew through
your red silk kerchief, always,
Peach blossoms fall
Round deserted ponds an’ hall.
Still there is our oath,
But between us no letter goeth.
No, no, no!

To Love No More
           by Lu You
Her red cold handswith ,
The sweet yellow wine;
We meet under the spring willows
By the red wall of palace.
The terrible east wind and
Love gone away with it;
Two hearts are both full of sorrows,
Alas! how long we have parted!
It’s wrong, wrong, wrong with our lot!

The same spring seems to return
While she is still thinner and weaker;
Her red eyes are filled with tears,
Their stains on her white silk scarf.
Peach blossoms fall down
The pavilion by pond quiet;
While our vows remain,
But  love can’t be sen with letterst.
Alas! it's no more, no more, no more!

You and I
           by Lu You
I can never forget your pink creamy hand
As you offered me the wine of good brade.
The town was full of beauty in springtime,
The palace wall covered with willows green.
But The east wind ill and our love left thin.
We both were filled with pains and sorrows,
Which so heavy during our separation for years.
That was wrong and wrong decision for us both.
The spring is charming as before,
Yet you are pine for love in vain.
Your red handkerchief is soaked
With sorrowful tears stained vivid.
The peach blossoms have fallen and
The tower by the lake is so deserted.
Though our vow of love true remains,
It’s difficult to express love with letters.
All’s over, everything’s over, and forever.
