三、辨析

1. like / love / enjoy / prefer

love 指引起深厚的、强烈的感情的爱，并有一种依附意，语气最重。

like 与love既可接to do, 也可接doing 且意思没有多大差别。

children love playing / to play.

I like walking / to walk in the rain.

不定式或动词词前可接逻辑主语：
I don’t like you smoking / to smoke.

I love him reading / to read to me in bed.

would (should) like(love) to do, 不接doing

would (should) like (love) to have done 表示过去未曾实现的想法

  I’d like / love to use your phone.

  I’d like / love to have taken him round the factory, but I was too busy.

加强程度不用very,通常用very much(位置like之前或like宾主之后)

  I very much like this film. √

  I like this film very much. √

  I very like this film.      ×

  I like very much this film. ×

  *deeply 可修饰love,但不能修饰like

  She loves her husband deeply. √

  She likes her husband deeply. ×

like / love … better 与 like / love … more 细微差别：连用than时多用more,不连than多用better

  I like tennis more than I like football.

  After a few weeks I got to like the job better.

  Which subject do you like better, English or French?

like/love 一般只用作及物动词。

  -- Do you like English?  -- Yes, I like it. ( Yes, I do.)

  I like it if you come to my party.

  She won’t like it if you arrive late.

I don’t like it when she tells me how to do things.

  (it 为形式宾语，常用动词：like, love, dislike, hate, appreciate, etc.)

enjoy 享受、喜欢，具有满足感。enjoy (doing) sth.

  I enjoy foreign music.

  I enjoy hiking and jogging.

prefer 更喜欢= like … better。是有有比较的情况下说出的。

  I prefer playing football. 后面不可再用better

  I prefer English to German.  to 易误用than;

  I prefer to stay at home rather than hang out in my spare time. 

  Southerners prefer rice while northerners prefer noodles.

I like jogging in the morning. vt. 动名词（短语）作宾语

7. and the like 等等；诸如此类= and so on
