in spite of与regardless of区别
  前者：一般是主观上故意去忽视,有时往往是好的条件,因素,或他人的建议,很可能导致不好的结果； 
  后者：一般用于客观上无法避免的事实,往往是不利的条件,因素,需要主语去正确面对和处理,并不是避而远之。

  前者只要指"除....外,不管"; 后者更侧重表示"对....熟视无睹,置若罔闻",一般含贬义。
  She smiled in spite of herself. 她不禁微笑起来。
  force a laugh in spite of pain  尽管疼痛但强作笑容
  They went in spite of the rain. 他们不顾天下雨也去了。
  She come in spite of her cold. 她虽然着凉还是来了。

 regardless

   adj. 不顾虑的，不关心的 

     I must make the decision regardless. 不管怎样我得做决定。

     Continues to work regardless. I leave the consequences to take care of themselves.
