1. although  conj. 多用于句首，用法较正式、多数情况下可与though换用。“虽然，尽管”

    Although there is not a lot of traffic, on average, one vehicle comes off the road every two weeks.

Lessons can be learned to face the future, though / although history can’t be changed.

    Although I still make lots of mistakes, it doesn’t bother me like it used to.      

2. though  

   conj. 较常用, 可与although常可直接换用。

 Although / Though he believes it, yet he will not act.

conj. 可倒装也可不倒装。

  Child though / as he is, he knows a lot.

  Although / Though he is a child, he knows a lot.

   conj. 表示“假设”或用于虚拟结构, 可构成even though “即使”；although 不与even连用、只用来陈述“事实”。 

     even though / if 即使        不能说 even although 

     as though/ if 好像          不能说 as although 

     It is not as though he were poor. 看来他不像贫穷的样子。

     Einstein cared little for money, though he could have been very rich.

   adv. 放在句子末尾，前面用逗号隔开，相当于however. Although无此用法。

 It was hard work; I enjoyed it, though.

     -- Have you been to Australia?  -- No. I’d like to, though.

     They said they would come; they did not, though.

   It does have a few good features, though.

3. as 引导让步状语从句，必倒装。名词，形容词，动词提前。单数可数名词提前，省略其前冠词。 

Hot as / though the night air was, we slept deeply because we were so tired after the long journey. 形容词倒装

    Young as /though he is, he knows a lot. 

Tired as he is,he offers to help me.
    Well-written as the book is,the author is not satisfied and prepared to revise it.
    Child as /though he is, he can speak two foreign languages. 名词作表语，只提前名词，无冠词。

Student as he is,he does not study hard.
    Much as I admire his courage,I don’t think he acted wisely. 副词倒装
    动词原形 + as + 主语 + 谓语的另一部分（情态动词或助动词may,might,will,would等）：
    Try as you will,you won’t be able to persuade him. 不管你怎么努力,你都说服不了他.

 4. despite 介词“尽管”，相当于in spite of

   Despite his lack of experience, he got the job.

   It is unbelievable that Mr. Lucas leads a simple life despite his great wealth.

  从句主语与主句一致，且有be动词，从句主语和be可以省略。
