Statement No.3 from Family Members of the 154 Chinese Passengers

During the press conference held at 12:30 pm on March 25, the CEO of Malaysian Airlines, Mr. Yahya briefed the media on their efforts to comfort and support the family members of those on board MH370. He said that Malaysian Airlines had sent 700 caregivers for over 900 family members, with two dedicated caregivers per family. However, the truth is, from 16:00 of March 24 till now, the Malaysian Airlines office in Lido hotel remains closed with absolutely no one, no Malaysian Airlines staff or volunteers on-site to support Chinese family members. Moreover, no accommodation was provided to the family members who rushed back to  Beijing after receiving the devastating message that “flight MH370 ended in the southern  and none of those on board survived”. MH370 Family Committee tried to seek support from Malaysian Airlines representatives only to receive a cold reply that “the accommodation of those family members shall be provided by the Family Committee itself”. As a matter of fact, Malaysian Airlines has neither mentioned this matter to our Committee nor in any form entrusted us with such matter before.


We couldn’t help but feel disappointed in how Malaysian Airlines handles MH370 family members’ reasonable demands and we are most indignant at Malaysian Airlines, for they are repeatedly lying to the whole world. It is our sincere hope that with this statement, the lies of Malaysian Airlines can be known to all and Malaysian Airlines will live up to their promises in a timely manner.
