常用来接动名词做宾语的动词

哪些动词或短语接动名词是测试中的重点。往往可分以下两种，现总结如下：

①下列动词后常常只能接动名词作宾语：

acknowledge承认，自认；advise建议；admit 承认；allow；avoid避免；appreciate感激；bar禁止；cease 停止；consider考虑；confess坦白；delay延期；deny否认，抵赖；dislike不喜欢，讨厌；enjoy喜欢; escape逃跑；excuse宽恕；fancy幻想，爱好, imagine想象；include包括、包含；finish完成; complete完成;forbid禁止；forgive宽恕；imagine想象；mention提到；mind介意、反对; miss错过，想念；keep保持；pardon; 宽恕，原谅 practise练习； permit许可； risk冒险； resist忍住、不屈服于； suggest提议； postpone=put off延期，推迟； understand理解；favour造成，偏爱  ; involve卷入，产生某种必然的结果；recall回想；resume恢复  ；quit放弃、停止；report报告; tolerate忍受，容忍; hinder耽搁、妨碍；resume继续、重新开始；recommend建议、劝告；等等。

例如：

1.In some countries people favor staying together even though there is much more space. 在一些国家，尽管有很多空地，人们还是愿意住在一起。

2.With apples at 25 cents a pound, we couldn't resist taking four pounds. 由于苹果25分一磅，我们禁不住买了四磅。

3.My mother dislikes seeing you with me. =My mother dislikes our being together.我母亲不喜欢看到你我在一起。

4.Your duties include checking the post and distributing it.你的职责是检查和发送邮件。

5.He acknowledged having been defeated.他承认失败了。

6.Whenever I mention playing football, he says he’s too busy.一提踢球，他就说他太忙。

7.To accept the position you offer would involve my living in London.若接受你提供的职位，我必然得住在伦敦。

8.I could not recall having heard anyong say that before.我不记得以前曾听到有人说过那件事。

9.He quit smoking and drinking early in his life.他早年就戒烟戒酒。

10.I am sorry to have kept you waiting for a long time.对不起，让您久等了。

11.He reported having seen no one come in.他报告说，没曾见到有人进来。

12.The school cannot tolerate cheating on exams.学校不容许在考试中有作弊现象。

13.He confessed taking part in a plot to free the prisoner.他承认参与了一项营救那个犯人的秘密计划。

14Being a teacher, my duty doesn’t only teach them the lessons, but includes teaching them how to be a real man.作为一名教师，我的职责不仅仅教他们课程，而且包括他怎样成为一个真正的人。

15.I can’t fancy his doing such a thing.我不能想象他会做这种事情。

有人把常用的只能接-ing分词作宾语的动词编成顺口溜，这样可以方便同学们记忆：

放弃延期悔想像，坚持欣赏承实践；

quit/give up,delay,regret,imagine/fancy,keep,enjoy, admit ,practice
禁止原谅避卷入，考虑感激不自禁；

forbid/bar,excuse/pardon/forgive,avoid,involve,consider, appreciate,can’t help
允许报告厌介意，承认回想含错过。

permit/allow, report, dislik,mind, acknowledge，recall，include，miss

否认完成禁欣赏，deny,finish, quit(bar/forbid),appreciate/ enjoy

不禁介意允逃亡。can’t help,mind,allow/permit,escape

②下列短语常常接动名词： put off推迟, give up放弃, look forward to, burst out突然发出； break off突然终止； feel like, keep on 继续，can't help (忍不住) ； can't stand(无法忍受)； 等等。

例如：

He went on speaking of his experiences.他继续谈自己的经历。

While shopping people sometimes can’t help being persuaded into buying something that they don’t really need.

I’m tired and I don’t feel like doing anything.

He kept on phoning me,and I really didn’t want to talk to him.(强调重复和决心。因此，不能和静止动词sit , stand, lie ,sleep连用)

He caught such a bad cold that he kept coughing all morning.(强调所处的状态)

Please keep sitting where you are.
