A Race Against Death
It was a cold January in 1925 in Nome Alaska. The town was cut off from the rest of the world due to heavy snow.

情态动词的虚拟语气:
1,should have done , shouldn`t have done

4, could have done(一,过去本能够做而未做;二,除此还可以表非虚拟的推测:可能已经做了某事。表推测而不表虚拟时,等于can have done),
否定couldn`t have done,不能表虚拟,但可以表否定推断=can`t have done
也就是说,表虚拟时,could have done,不能换词为can; 但表推测时,可以换词为can
