Charles Murray’s idea:  Americans’ idea about happiness hasn’t been changed very much; we expect material resources, safety, self-respect and enjoyment or self-fulfillment as the conditions for us to pursue happiness; the policy set by the society is expected to help people realize their capacities and, therefore gain their happiness.

     Edward Banfield’s idea: The pursuit of happiness may lead to badness; the pursuit of material makes us fall; but the pursuit of material satisfaction has nothing to do with viciousness; to make others happy can be a part of the pursuit of happiness.

ii. Allan Bloom’s opinion: today people’s principles about happiness are changing; and from Aristotle to Locke ideas of happiness are changed; the present situation is diversity; the classic texts are still meaningful when we consider the concept of happiness.

From this passage ,I know that we must respect our family members. Respecting others is one of the most important characteristics of us. Respect is something that needs to be shown to everyone.We raise our voices higher than we dare when we’re in public. We use derogatory names we wouldn’t think of calling someone else.

I can't agree with this idea more.Nowadays, the maps of cities are updated frequently. Many things are growing in the cities.Buildings grows higher and higher. The environmental pollution speed grows quicker and quicker.The population in the cities grows larger and larger. But the real thing I want to talk about is the crime rate. Crime rate grows higher and higer in cities.There were 579 murders reported in New York City through January24, compared with 527 last year at this time, according to police records.
