Interpersonal and Intrapersonal Knowledge人际关系和与自我的关系
没有什么比孩子的人际交往智慧更重要的维度了。童年的主要任务,就是能够很好的理解自己和他人。(这在中国教育中非常缺失啊,如果我能帮助那些所谓“不受欢迎”的孩子重新和其他孩子成为好朋友,那该多好啊!)在了解自己这方面,我们的目标是培养孩子的情感智能。他们必须能自知,适当的自信,有效的管理他们的情感和感觉,能处理好压力,并且承担个人责任。在对他人了解方面,我们希望他们可以与他人建立积极的关系,很好的参与团队活动,在一定的社会期望中生活。
No arena of development is more important that a child's ability to develop intrapersonal and interpersonal intelligence. Major tasks of childhood are the need to build a strong sense of self and others. In the intrapersonal realm, our goal is to have children become "emotionally smart." To do this, they must become self-aware, appropriately assertive, manage their feelings and emotions effectively, handle stress, and take personal responsibility. In the interpersonal realm, 3e aims to have children develop the social skills that allow them to develop positive relationships with others, to live within the bounds of societal expectations, and to participate well in groups. Curricular strands include emotional and social development.
Cultural and Global Awareness文化感知与全球观
适应变化和多样性的能力,在现在孩子将要生活的未来至关重要。我们可以预见,我们现在培养的孩子将要生活和工作在一个文化多元的社会中,他们将要和来自不同文化和语言背景的人打交道。对多样化持不接受态度的人,将会在社会交往方面、经济方面、政治方面受到很大的不利影响,从而大大减少了他们原本能够对这个越发复杂的世界做出的贡献。3e的目标是,我们的孩子不仅能够尊重不同文化,而且能从不同文化的跨越中获得乐趣和成长。具体模块包括:文化能力、分享、历史、地理。
The ability to adapt to change and diversity will become a significantly important feature of children's lives as they grow into adulthood. Because of the rapidly changing global scene, it is predictable that they will live, work, and spend leisure time with others from many different cultures and language groups. Children who develop rejecting attitudes toward others will be hampered socially, economically, and politically in the eventual contributions they can make in increasingly complex societies. Our goal at 3e is to have children in our student body grow to not only respect differences but to genuinely appreciate and enjoy the learning opportunities that come from cultural/linguistic diversity. Strands include cultural competence, shared connections, history and geography.
