Poker Lotto is Becoming an Industry Sensation
It all began with an anniversary vacation in Las Vegas and some fun at a 3 Card Poker table, the seeds from which germinated one of the hottest new games to hit the lottery industry in years.
Launched by Ontario Lottery
and Gaming Corp. in September 2010, Poker Lotto was the world’s
first lottery game to include traditional lottery draws, instant
wins and innovative audio and video displays at the point of
purchase. It was expected to do well, but no one could have guessed
just how well. It has become a phenomenon – the most successful
Ontario-only game in OLG history, with sales surpassing 300 percent
of budget in its first seven months. Poker Lotto was a major reason
why OLG sales in fiscal 2011 were the highest in the lottery’s
35-year
history.
