星光　　　　　　　　　　　　　THE LIGHT OF STARS.

夜来了，确如其时，　　　　　　The night is come, but not too soon;

静静地沉落。 　　　　　　　　　 And sinking silently,

天空一片寂静，后面　　　　　　All silently, the little moon

皎小的月亮向下移行。　 　　　　 Drops down behind the sky.

除了星星的冷光　　　　　　　　There is no light in earth or heaven

大地和苍穹没有一丝光亮， 　　　 But the cold light of stars;

夜空第一颗明星当属　　　　　　And the first watch of night is given

红色的火星。  　　　　　　　　　To the red planet Mars.

它是爱的柔情的星吗　　　　　　Is it the tender star of love?

  是爱和梦的星吗？　　　　　　　The star of love and dreams?

哦，不，在兰色的帐蓬上方　　　O no! from that blue tent above,

有英雄盔甲的闪光。　  　　　　　A hero's armor gleams.

红色的盾牌　　　　　　　　　　And earnest thoughts within me rise,

悬挂在夜的上空  　　　　　　　　When I behold afar,

当我注视远方，　　　　　　　　Suspended in the evening skies,

最真诚的思念于内心潮涌　　　　　The shield of that red star.

哦，坚强的星，我苦难时，　　　O star of strength! I see thee stand

看见你伫立，微笑，  　　　　　　And smile upon my pain;

你用披甲的手向我招呼　　　　Thou beckonest with thy mailed hand,

我重又坚强、心高。　　　　　　 And I am strong again.

除了星星的冷光，　　　　　　Within my breast there is no light

我胸中没有光明。　　　　　　　 But the cold light of stars;

我把今夜第一眼瞻望　　　　　　I give the first watch of the night

献给红色的火星。  　　　　　　　To the red planet Mars.

此星有不可征服的意志　　　　　The star of the unconquered will,

它在我胸中升起 　　　　　　　　 He rises in my breast,

安祥、坚定、平静、　　　　　　Serene, and resolute, and still,

沉着、自制。  　　　　　　　　　And calm, and self-possessed.

当你的希望接连离去，　　　　　And thou, too, whosoe'er thou art,

请朗读这首短诗 　　　　　　　　 That readest this brief psalm,

无论你是谁，　　　　　　　　　As one by one thy hopes depart,

都是一样会坚定无愁思　　　　　　 Be resolute and calm.
